Parliament Rejects Education Reforms Made by The Presidential Task Force.
The president working party on educational reforms (PWPER ) brought into the table many recommendations on the educational sector.
Without much consideration on the effect of the reforms, the working party brought the reccomendations to the public through the speech by education CS .

The reforms changes quite a number of items on the Grading System from the cluster point approach to the best performed subjects ,where compulsory will be mathematics and one language .
The tsc also has been against the reforms since it interferes with the requirements on employment .
The PWPER receives rejection since the Monday announcement about the system to be used for Grading beginning this year.
Now the parliamentary members have given a lot of objection to the reforms.

The members of Parliament Rejects the reforms saying that it was a reccomendation that has not gone through Parliamentary process.
It cannot be a bill without passing through Parliament, the purpose of Parliament is to legislate meaning the reccomendations must pass through a debate before going to the public.

Under article 237 (3) of the constitution the teachers service commission has a mandate to recruit and employ the registered teachers .
With this new reforms the commision will have minimal control over the requirements for employment of teachers.
