This came due to the expenses that the government uses in ensuring all the areas in Kenya have basic facilities.

Hardship areas
The Hardship areas include areas that have no access to infrastructure, lack of basic commodities like water and food, insecurity areas and other pandemics like flood and drought.

Areas which fal used this category receives some caution money from the government in terms of Hardship allowance .
Depending on the job group individuals receive some amounts top due to their perseverance when working in this areas.
The Government has put in place many of this facilities hence most of the areas will not be under hardship areas
Furthermore the world bankwarns on the expenditure after covid 19 pandemic .
It says that there must be measures of cost cutting to reduce the expenditure.
3 billion shillings will be saved from the allowances given to the civil servants over this areas including 90, 000 teachers.
Areas removed include Nyandarua, Nakuru, Nandi, kajiado, kisumu,kitui, kericho , Businesia and Makueni.
Why the government scrabbed off the allowances.
First , the government says that facilities have been put in place to ensure the areas have access to basic commodities.
Most areas now have access to clean water, electricity, roads and security.
Secondly, the world bank has given a warning that most areas must be scrabbed off so the government saves around 3 billion every month .
Lastly civil servants who are working in this areas can now move comfortably to and fro working areas and others have been delocalised to their local homes.
