First Years to receive their funding beginning next week.
First years are set to receive their loans beginning Monday next week, according to Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu.
The CS says the Helb loans and funding process is complete, and therefore, students will start receiving funds next week.
Applications ceased back in September 7,2023 and students have eagerly been waiting for the funds to be disbursed.
First years students have been having fears of deferment following the delay of their disbursement.

The Funds will be divided to loans and bursaries based on the needs of individual students and the education program.

Furthermore, first year students from both the Universities and the Technical and vocational Education Training will get the funds.
This is after a group of University students went to the streets to demonstrate over the delayance of the funds.
Education CS says, the loans for first years from Universities and TVET students is now under the Higher Education Funding Model.
The Ministry wishes to inform the successful applicants that, their funds will start hitting their school accounts from next week.
Machogu adds that, students should ensure their bank details links to their respective schools should be correct and up to date.
Generally, the Ministry promises to issues the funds to students on Tuesday 7, 2023, for upkeep and fees.

Institutions have been running without enough tuition fees for new students for two months now, and has lagged their activities.
Initially, students were divided into four main groups i.e Vulnerable, extremely needy, needy and less needy.
Students to receive their funding soon.
However reports emerge that, the division groups are five, after adding the fifth category in order to fit many students.
To add on, the funds are directly channeled to the institutions account for tuition and further upkeep to student’s account.
The first year students are urged to maintain and use the funds in a substantial manner, and avoid mismanagement.
