CS Machogu speaks over KCSE and KCPE exams
Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu lays plans for the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education and Kenya Certificate of Primary Education.
Three cabinet secretaries are to meet tomorrow to discuss and oversee the plans for this year’s national examinations.
Early preparations for National Examinations
A series of strategies is put in place to ensure changes in the sector, that can improve the security in administration of the exams.
The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) is in the process of implementations to ensure loopholes closes.
The jeopardy practices in exams comes from within top management and distributes itself to the other staffs, thus against integrity.

CS Machogu is to host CS Kithure Kindiki (interior) and CS Eliud Owalo (ICT) as part of the Multi-sectoral approach.
The meeting is set to take place at the Kenya National Examination Council head office in Nairobi on Monday.
In the meeting Machogu is to provide fully baked information on national examination that is to accommodate 3.5million students.
This year’s KCPE exams is the last set of exams under the 8-4-4 system as the country ushers in Competency Based Curriculum for students.
According to KNEC, more than 1.2 million students will have the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA).
The other 1.4 million will take KCPE exam and 903,260 to take the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education exam.
Plans to curb examination malpractices
Dr. David Njegere who is the KNEC chief executive says adjustments to be done in terms of transportation of exam papers particularly the afternoon ones.

This will help to prevent the early exposure of examination materials. Officials will pick exams at a different intervals, than both in the morning and afternoon.
He adds that, papers for morning hours should have officials pick them separately from those of the afternoon session.
